In the middle of our fast-paced lives, sometimes a single story can make us pause and see the world with a softer heart. The story of Ms. Bùi Thị Hà Thu, from Hat Lot town in Sơn La province, is one of those moments. She is a courageous mother battling late-stage cancer, yet her heart remains focused on her young son who is growing up with many hardships.

Despite facing a life-threatening illness, declining health, and unstable income, the thing that worries Ms. Thu the most is not her own pain—it is the fear of what will happen to her son if she can no longer stand strong. Through painful treatments filled with fear and exhaustion, she continues to stay mentally strong, determined to be a steady source of love for her child. The strength in her eyes is something that touches everyone who meets her.

Understanding the difficult circumstances that Ms. Thu is facing, Sagaha Foundation, in partnership with ONFA Fintech, quickly mobilized support and contributed 8,000 OFT (equivalent to 1,200 USD) to help her family through this critical time. While this donation cannot cure the illness, it serves as a powerful emotional support—helping ease some of the financial burden for treatment and daily living.

During the visit, the charity team witnessed firsthand the challenges the family endures: a small and simple home, unfinished bags of medicine, and a little boy who refuses to leave his mother’s side. Yet above it all is Ms. Thu’s extraordinary spirit—a mother who refuses to bow to fate and continues to smile so her child won’t feel the pain she hides inside.
