SPREADING KINDNESS IN LÀO CAI – SUPPORTING 55 FAMILIES AND LOCAL SCHOOLS AFTER TYPHOON YAGI

In September 2024, Sagaha Foundation, in collaboration with ONFA Fintech, carried out a meaningful charity mission in Tòng Sành Commune, Bát Xát District, Lào Cai Province — one of the areas hit hardest by Typhoon Yagi (Storm No. 3). Guided by the spirit of “spreading love,” the team visited local residents, offered encouragement, and provided essential support to help families overcome the challenges caused by the natural disaster.

Typhoon Yagi brought severe flooding that swept away homes and valuable belongings, leaving dozens of families without shelter and struggling to rebuild their lives. Understanding the deep hardships faced by local residents, Sagaha Foundation and ONFA Fintech jointly launched several impactful support programs. One of the most significant initiatives was the reconstruction of 7 Compassion Homes, with a total cost of 1.05 billion VND, giving displaced families a safe, stable place to return to after the floods.

Beyond housing support, the charity team also donated 210 million VND to the local preschool and the primary–secondary school, where children had been studying in difficult conditions after the storm. This funding helps the schools restore essential facilities, repair classrooms, and create a safer, more welcoming environment so children can continue learning with joy and confidence.

In addition, the program provided direct support to 55 low-income households severely impacted by the disaster. Each family received essential goods, daily necessities, and financial assistance to help them get through the toughest period and regain stability in both daily life and future livelihood activities.

The people of Tòng Sành expressed deep gratitude for the heartfelt support. For them, the visit from Sagaha Foundation and ONFA Fintech brought not only material relief but also emotional comfort — a reminder that the community stands with them during their most difficult moments.

Although the trip has ended, the compassion, unity, and spirit of solidarity continue to resonate long after. Sagaha Foundation affirms its commitment to continuing community support programs nationwide, hoping that every act of kindness will create new opportunities and renewed hope for those facing hardship across Vietnam.
